History

During the winter of 2006/7 representatives of Solihull Cricket and Tennis Club and Hampton in Arden Cricket Club were asked to look into the possibility of creating a new Club based at Tippett’s Field.  Solihull Cricket Club was no longer playing regular cricket whilst Hampton in Arden Cricket Club was struggling to be competitive.

A Foundation Group was formed and after some successful negotiations members of both Clubs agreed that a new Club, which would take the best from its parent Clubs, would be an exciting proposition and could be created in time to take Hampton in Arden Cricket Club’s   place in the Warwickshire Cricket League for the 2007 season.

Hampton in Arden Cricket Club’s subscription-paying Members and members of the Foundation Group became the Founder Members of the new Club and Members of the Foundation Group were confirmed as the Club’s Trustees at the Club’s first Annual General Meeting in February 2008.

The Club is now in its 9th year. It has enjoyed success both on and off the field, and currently fields three Saturday teams playing in the Warwickshire League and two Sunday sides, one playing in the Arden Sunday League and the other playing friendly matches as Hampton in Arden Cricket Club.

Midweek knockout 20 over cricket is played as Solihull Cricket Club but, perhaps most significantly, we have created and developed a Junior Cricket Section, with over 100 youngsters taking part in coaching sessions with friendly and league matches in five age groups.
